Texas Autosports is a full service Formula Mazda Racecar prep shop located at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX.  It is essentially the one stop shop for Formula Mazda Racing.  Moses Smith Racing, the manufacturer of the Formula Mazda, as well as Texas Autosports, both owned by Moses Smith are operating out of our 8000+ square foot facility at what we have affectionately dubbed 'The Ranch'.  As the manufacturer of the Formula Mazda, it is our primary focus here at Texas Autosports, which allows us to be the foremost prep shop for FM.  We also provide services for the Pro Mazda by Star Race Cars.  In essence, this is the Formula Mazda Experience from Start to Finish!

Texas Autosports not only provides an opportunity for the novice driver to come out and have some fun on the track in an open wheel race car, it also is the Coordinator of the Formula Car Challenge Southwest Race Series.  And starting in 2012, a premiere Formula Mazda Race Series, of 3 race weekends at special venues throughout the country, yielding high car count, and spectators.

Texas Autosports History

Texas Autosports was formed in 1997 by Tim and Sandy Magrath to exclusively promote Formula Mazda.

Recognizing the need for a competitive, fast, economical, low maintenance race car in the Southwest, Texas Autosports jumped at the opportunity to become the Southwest dealer for Formula Mazda. In September 2002, Star Race Cars (manufacturer for FM) deb

uted its new 2004 model Pro Formula Mazda. The Pro FM is several steps above the earlier version ("Standard FM"). Now, Texas Autosports can service two markets those that want to go fast and those that want to go REAL fast. For both FMs, Texas Autosports offers sales, service, extensive parts inventory, track side assistance, "Arrive and Drive" packages, rental packages, data acquisition analysis, transport, testing, and a local racing series.

The Standard FM can be run in the Southwest Formula Mazda Series and the club racing circuit. The Pro FM can be run in the Star Mazda Series North American Championship which is partnered with the American Le Mans Series. The Pro FM can also be run in the Club Racing circuit. For more detailed information on both cars, go to the pages indicated on the navigation bar to the left.
