About Us
Texas Autosports was formed in 1997 by Tim and Sandy Magrath to exclusively
promote Formula Mazda. Recognizing the need for a competitive, fast, economical, low
maintenance race car in the Southwest, Texas Autosports jumped at the opportunity
to become the Southwest dealer for Formula Mazda. In September 2002, Star Race
Cars (manufacturer for FM) debuted its new 2004 model Pro Formula Mazda. The
Pro FM is several steps above the earlier version ("Standard FM"). Now, Texas Autosports
can service two markets those that want to go fast and those that want to go REAL
fast. For both FMs, Texas Autosports offers sales, service, extensive parts inventory,
track side assistance, "Arrive and Drive" packages, rental packages, data acquisition
analysis, transport, testing, and a local racing series.
The Standard FM will continue to be run in the Southwest Formula Mazda Series and
the club racing circuit. The Pro FM will be run in the Star Mazda Series North
American Championship which is partnered with the American
Le Mans Series. Texas Autosports also has a local Series
for the Pro FM. For more detailed information on both cars, go to the pages indicated
on the navigation bar to the left.
